Under the "new normal", the current operation of the industrial economy has the following characteristics: first, the growth rate continues to decline, but it tends to slow down and stabilize; Second, corporate profitability has declined, but improved; Third, the growth rate of investment has fallen significantly, but structural adjustment has continued to advance. In January ~ August this year, investment in technological transformation increased by 1.8%, and high-tech manufacturing increased by 18.2%. In the development of instrument enterprises, from January to August, the cumulative year-on-year growth rate of output of various sub-industries was different, but they all showed a growth trend, among which, the cumulative year-on-year growth rate of electrical instruments and meters reached 13.3%. In January ~ August, among the 1 industrial industries, the instrument manufacturing industry achieved a total profit of 8.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 86.1%. From another data, in January ~ August, the instrumentation manufacturing industry achieved main business income of 8.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 407.0%. In the state of general decline of industrial economy, the development of instrumentation enterprises is growing.

However, instrument companies need to continue to work hard to seize opportunities in the alternating period of "old strength is weakening and new life will be born", optimize the traditional development model, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Take a heat metering instrument company as an example to see how it has transformed and developed. In the stage of gradually promoting mandatory metering and charging in China, heat meter enterprises need to grasp the correct development direction and timely transformation and upgrading. With the relevant policies clarifying that the heating unit is the responsible entity for heat metering and charging, some enterprises are sensitive to the realization that the heat metering "product" must meet the needs of the energy-saving management of the heating unit. They actively develop the combination technology from measurement, charging, management integration to the data remote transmission system required for regulation and monitoring, and thus transform and produce a number of energy measurement and control technology engineering companies. In the case that heating enterprises become the main body of responsibility for heat metering charges, heat meter enterprises need to enhance the awareness of serving heating enterprises, and it is clear that in the field of central heating and building energy saving, only by being a good "supporting role" of heating enterprises can there be opportunities to develop the market.

Li Yizhong said that under the development of the international market, positive changes have taken place in the adjustment of the industrial structure. Even the industry has transformed and developed, so how can instrument companies lag behind. In recent years, the number of enterprises in China's instrument industry has been showing a growth trend, among which the development of joint ventures and private enterprises goes hand in hand, and a number of leading enterprises and listed companies with obvious development advantages have emerged in the industry. Due to the introduction of new technologies, the establishment of joint ventures and the establishment of modern enterprise systems, instrument enterprises have greatly increased the production concentration of the instrument industry and accelerated the transformation and upgrading of instruments.

With the rapid development of social economy, reducing energy consumption has gradually become the key to the survival and development of enterprises. The traditional development model is no longer suitable for the current model of energy saving and consumption reduction, and instrument companies need to transform and upgrade to occupy a broader market.
